Due to the extreme breadth and complexity of the bill, a situation has been created where the treatment of some types of health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act is far from clear. This is the case with respect to bona fide association plans such as the health insurance coverage offered to members of the AVMA through AVMA GHLIT. As a result of this ambiguity, it is critical that the regulations preserve and protect the viability of bona fide association health plans.
