J. Karl Wise, PhD

J. Karl Wise, PhD, is the associate executive vice president of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Liaison-Trustee (non-voting) to the GHLIT. A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Wise earned his PhD from Penn State University. He and his wife, Jane, reside in Hoffman Estates, IL, have two children, both married, and have one grandchild. When not working, Dr. Wise enjoys sailing, stained glass art and spending time with his cat, Sir Lancelot the Brave (aka Lance). At the AVMA, Dr. Wise advises and coordinates strategic planning and general administration for the association, and provides staff support for the Executive Board and various subcommittees.
